They began rehearsing in a small garage with drummer John Lengel and guitarist Carlos Figueroa, soon swapping their engineering jobs for the life of a band. Their raw talent quickly captured the attention of some of the biggest names in Latin music. In 1995, a young Ricky Martin recorded a song they had written called "Bombón de Azúcar," and Ednita Nazario recorded "Última Vez" shortly after. This recognition gave the band, then known as La Secta, the credibility and confidence they needed to move forward.
