A mother of two sons and a doting grandmother to five grandchildren, Karla’s life revolved around her family. She spent 35 years working at Denver General Hospital and devoted her spare time to hosting community events for the youth in her neighborhood. A natural leader and go-getter, she was "everyone's go-to, whether it was cooking, cleaning or providing a listening ear".
